Overview

The Congress covered three main themes namely, evolving inspection regimes; aquaculture; and technological developments in processing and production. Amongst the main conclusions was the need for harmonised sanitary requirements from the major fish importers. There also needs to be a more holistic approach to food production that balances food safety with nutrition and environmental issues.
