OverviewMobilizing the Power to Stop Harm, Cultivating the Love to Heal We are living in a world where the depths of division, violence, and destruction can no longer be ignored. From political polarization leading to the erosion of the democratic process to the climate crisis continuing to perpetuate racial inequity, we need changes that heal harms at the personal and systemic levels. Escalated forms of harm require an equally escalated response. Yet social movements often use tactics that have a tendency to escalate an ""us vs. them,"" ""right vs. wrong"" worldview not conducive to healing. In Fierce Vulnerability, activist and author Kazu Haga argues this binary worldview is at the heart of what is destroying our relationships and our planet and offers a new way to create healing by combining the time-honored lineage of nonviolent action with the sciences of trauma healing and the promises of spiritual practice. Fierce Vulnerability realizes we can't ""shut down"" injustice any more than we can ""shut down"" trauma; if healing is our goal, we need social movements that center relationships and promote healing. Growing up in a multicultural family gave him a unique perspective and appreciation for different walks of life that he uses to aid in his storytelling. It also gave him a knack for picking up different accents, which he uses to help fill his roster of characters. He has a background in audio/video communications and production, which led him to Los Angeles and ultimately to voice acting. For over a decade, Myles has brought his experiences to indie projects and lent his voice to a number of characters, including a talking sock. He also enjoys studying languages, with a special fondness for Japanese, which has helped him to quickly learn and pronounce non-English words and phrases he may come across. His melodic tenor voice is a great fit for teen and young adult male characters coming of age in worlds of myth and fantasy. As a gay man, Myles has a passion for stories that shed light on the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. He also enjoys sharing bone-chilling horror stories, a genre he first fell in love with reading Goosebumps books in his youth. Outside of the booth, Myles is an avid swimmer, baker, and singer; a passion that stems from the family function jam-outs and karaoke sessions of his youth. He also enjoys board games, painting minis for D&D, and is an all-around nerd and kid at heart. As such, he is still holding out hope for his X-Gene to someday kick in.
