Ryan Musgrave is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Rollins College in Florida, and earned her Ph.D. in both philosophy and literature from Purdue University. Her work is on feminist and sociopolitical/legal philosophy, aesthetics, American philosophy, and value theory generally. Her main interests include the overlap of aesthetics, ethics, and politics, and the epistemological value of art and imagination (especially in the Pragmatist tradition of liberal education). Her most recent work is on democratic aesthetics, pragmatism, and critical social theory; it has appeared in Hypatia, Feminist Interpretations of Jane Addams, the International Journal of Arts in Society, and is forthcoming in Contemporary Pragmatism. She has recently served at Rollins as Honors Degree Program Director, Department of Philosophy and Religion Chair, and Women's Studies Program Coordinator.
