Cursed from birth by his parents' sacrifice, Moró has spent his life as an outcast among the canyon tribes. Shunned by his late mother's tribe, his adoptive siblings Ariche and Rimuma see the man, not an omen. When his beloved half-sister, Bimorí, vanishes on the eve of a sacred harvest ceremony, the tribal elders forbid a search. But for Moró, elder laws are meaningless. Defying their tribe's elders, he and his adoptive siblings venture beyond the safety of their canyons to find her. Their relentless search leads them into the path of a new, ruthless enemy: the Tercio de Cordoba, a group of Spanish Conquistadors determined to extract silver and slaves from the land.
