Raphiem Mason is the son of late nonfiction author Robert L. Mason (The Ultimate Beagle, Not Without Blood) and Sheila C. Mason, Teacher and life-long educator. He was born the fourth child of eight siblings in the west end area of Louisville, KY, though his earliest memories are from Rolling Stone Court in Okolona. He began his education at Blue Lick Elementary until his family moved to Providence, KY. He graduated from Providence Independent High School. Though having no shortage of great teachers and educators in school as well as at home, he never read a book cover to cover until he was twenty-five years old. It was then he discovered a love of fiction, becoming an avid reader. At twenty-eight he attended IUS in New Albany and studied both journalism and creative writing.He currently resides in Sellersburg, IN. Though content living a solitary and private life, he maintains very close relationships with all of his siblings. Undoubtedly, his mother is his biggest fan.
