Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. Amir Sharafkhaneh is an associate professor of medicine and program director of Sleep Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (where he did his Fellowship) and is a medical director at the Sleep Disorders and Research Center at the DeBakey VA Medical Center. Dr. Sharafkhaneh is board certified sleep medicine. Since 2002, He has conducted research studies on respiratory diseases including asthma, COPD, bronchitis and emphysema. He is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society, and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr Sharafkhaneh is on the review panel of the journals Chest Respiratory Medicine, International Journal of COPD, Thorax, Journal of Affective Disorders and Sleep. He received his MD at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1990 and his PhD in public health at the Baylor College of Medicine in 2008.
