OverviewBasil William Maturin (1847-1915) was an Irish-born Anglican priest, preacher and writer who later became Roman Catholic. He was ordained in Rome, and appointed Chaplain at Oxford University in 1914. He died on board the RMS Lusitania as he returned from America, on 7 May 1915 during the First World War. His works include: Practical Studies on the Parables of Our Lord (1897), Laws of Spiritual Life (1905) and Price of Unity (1912).
