Her involvement in business and fashion outside of the college includes membership in The Fashion Group International and the International Textiles and Apparel Association, for which she was a recipient of the Special Recognition of Outstanding Fashion Merchandising Education Award. She is also the author of The Fashion Intern. Tina Sterling is owner and President of Core Connection, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in business planning, strategic planning, and evaluation of entrepreneurial enterprises. Ms. Sterling serves as adjunct faculty for Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, teaching entrepreneurship. She also serves as a consultant to the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. She is a member of the Academy of Management and has served as business advisory chair for Students in Free Enterprise and on various community boards such as the Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Task Force for the Department of Economic Development, Association for Enterprise Opportunity, and the St. Louis 2004 Committee on Microenterprise.
