Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationNaz was born and raised on the family farm in Lawrenceville, New Jersey to Polish immigrants who fled from war-torn Europe to the USA before the communist takeover of Poland. Naz was educated at Boston University, where she volunteered at the BU Women's Center and became active in fighting for LGBT, minority and women's rights. Influenced by social activist Professor Howard Zinn while at BU, Naz switched her major to Political Science, and actively fought for the issues of the day by demonstrating at Boston City Hall, the State House and the Federal Building, for the Equal Rights Amendment for women (ERA), and to reverse the unjust guilty verdict of Dr. Kenneth Edelin. After graduating with a BSBA, Naz was the first woman hired as a software engineer in the US office of a global company in Wellesley, MA. Later, Naz earned her M.S. in Telecommunications from Southern Methodist University, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Electrical Engineering, and has worked as a Computer Engineer professionally for 35 years, where she continued to advocate for LGBT, minority and women's rights in a male-dominated workplace. She has a patent pending, as sole inventor, from her work as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Alcatel-Lucent (Bell Labs) in Murray Hill, NJ where she worked on Wireless 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE R&D, and is currently pursuing fresh opportunities with Open Thought Software, Inc.
