OverviewFamily Law and Litigation explains the key underpinning family law as well as how it is practised in the Family Court. Chapter 1 introduces family law clients, including litigants in person, the Family Court and other key issues including costs and mediation. In Chapter 2 the requirements for a valid marriage and civil partnership are explained, including capacity and formalities. Chapter 3 explains the law and practice relating to divorce. In Chapter 4 the financial orders which the court may award on divorce or dissolution are described. Chapter 5 sets out the law covering cohabitation, including cohabitation contracts. In Chapter 6 the private law and practice relating to children is set out, including parental responsibility, child arrangement orders and guardianship. Chapter 7 explains the law and practice of child protection, including variations in Wales. Chapter 8 reviews the law and practice relating to adoption, including post-adoption contact. She specialises in Intergenerational rights, which involves researching on disputes between parents and the state over adoption, and grandparents and parents over child contact. In 2020, she authored a Family Law textbook published with MacMillan HE. In 2023, she co-authored an edited collection entitled ""Grandparents and the Law: Rights and Relationships"" with Dr Jaime Lindsey from the University of Reading.
