Overview

Only Kat and Jerry could turn a pleasant ride on a Space Elevator into a death-defying experience. But where these two adventurers go, trouble soon rears its ugly head. A simple case of mistaken identity ensnares the vacationing couple in a dangerous conspiracy, forcing them to fight for their lives both in space and down on the planet. And if they can manage to survive an uncontrolled plunge down the Space Elevator cable, they still have to stay one step ahead of the criminals hot on their trail. It's one challenge after another, with seemingly no safe place to escape to, as an entire planet threatens to engineer a tragic end to Kat and Jerry's short-lived tourist trip. And the worst part is: if they fail to make it out alive, who will feed the cat they left on their ship?

Author Information

J. M. Holmes was born and raised in Canada and educated in the Classics by Jesuits and nuns. A Renaissance polymath, Holmes has been the Editor of the bilingual magazine for Glendon College in Toronto; the Editor of that city's French-language newspaper, Le Metropolitain; a successful magazine publisher; and Director of the Davis Film Festival in Davis, California. Recipient of the 2005 Heroes Award from the American Red Cross, Holmes has also received commendations from the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the California Legislature, and the City of Davis, California, in recognition of extraordinary charity work performed. Holmes is also the winner of awards in California for running a business with outstanding environmental practices and from Rotary International for producing that charity's weekly publication. Holmes is working hard to combat shrinking populations in the western world, and to that end has participated in the addition of two additional humans, Alex and Sarah, both of whom are ex-college students working hard at honing their skills in questioning authority and challenging conventional wisdom. Currently, J. M. Holmes resides in the United States and shares a home with seven feral cats. Francesco LaCerva was born more than half a century ago in Palermo on the beautiful island of Sicily, where he lives to this day. A childhood immersed in films, cartoons, books and comics inspired him to bring to life drawing - first on the walls of his house, and eventually on sheets of paper - the fantastic characters and worlds of fantasy and science fiction. Today Francesco supports his family, including three children, by working as an established architect. But between his daily commitments designing houses and other buildings, he still feeds his soul with a regular diet of books, comics, cartoons, and film. And ever faithful to his First Love, he dedicates his free time to illustration, never forgetting the passion that has always inspired him: drawing.
