Fallen Heroes: A Tribute from Fire Engineering was created to honor the courageous firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The book is a beautifully-bound, 8 1/2 11 keepsake detailing the tragic events of the attacks on America. The book includes a photo gallery of the fallen firefighters, firsthand reports from Ground Zero. Profits will go to the Fire Engineering Courage and Valor Foundation. Each year's income from the Foundation will be awarded to the firefighter (or his or her family) who has exhibited exemplary courage and valor in a rescue operation during the preceding year and in honor of the firefighters who sacrificed their lives on September 11. The Ray Downey Courage and Valor Award will be presented annually at the FDIC Conference and Exhibition in Indianapolis.
