Overview

Homesickness can happen to anyone, and changes throughout life are guaranteed. In this devotional, Meghan Schmitz shares Bible verses, experiences, and action plans to encourage readers to accept change, embrace vulnerability, and open up to new possibilities. Meghan wrote Faith Over Fear: Learning to Trust God through Your Transition to College in 2020 as a college senior during the pandemic. Her volleyball season and campus experience had halted, but as with homesickness, her faith and prayer helped her maintain feelings of joy and gratitude. With Faith Over Fear, readers will never look at change the same way again.

Author Information

Meghan Schmitz had a successful academic and athletic high school experience behind her and a new and exciting college life ahead of her. In her freshman year of college, she excelled in the classroom and on the volleyball court, met new friends, and was in a beautiful setting-but she was nagged with homesickness. She missed her friends, her parents, and even the coffee shop back home. Meghan struggled with this for a long time, even though she had a great support system. It wasn't until she dove into her faith and prayer life that everything clicked. She trusted God and learned to accept change as part of life and as an exciting challenge, using prayer to become more focused and grateful.
