Matthew is a founding member of the Antietam Institute and the president of the Frederick County Civil War Round Table. Currently, he is a National Park Service ranger at Monocacy National Battlefield in Frederick, Maryland. Joseph W. Stahl retired from the Institute for Defense Analyses. Since his retirement, he has become a volunteer and NPS Licensed Battlefield Guide at Antietam and Harpers Ferry. He received BS and MS degrees from Missouri University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Joe has authored more than two dozen articles about items in his collections for Gettysburg Magazine, the Washington Times Civil War Page, Manuscripts, America's Civil War and Military Collector & Historian.
