An eye disease can refer to any of the diseases or disorders that affect the human eye. Eye problems are treated within the field of ophthalmology. Age-related eye diseases are the leading cause of blindness and low vision. A few major eye diseases are macular degeneration, cataract, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.
