Author Information

Suzanne Degges-White, PhD, LMHC, LCAC, LPC, NCC, is Associate Professor, Department of Leadership and Counselor Education, University of Mississippi, Oxford, MI. She is also a licensed counselor in private practice serving children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Degges-White's research interests include development over the lifespan, gender issues in counseling, and the use of creative and innovative techniques in counseling. She has been the recipient of multiple grants and research awards for her work. Dr. Degges-White has published numerous journal articles and book chapters as well as having co-edited the books Integrating the Expressive Arts into Counseling Practice (Springer Publishing, 2010), Counseling Boys and Young Men (Springer Publishing, 2012), and College Student Mental Health Counseling (Springer Publishing, 2013). She co-authored Friends Forever: How Girls and Women Forge Lasting Relationships (2010). She is on the editorial boards for the Journal of Counseling and Development and AdultSpan. Dr. Degges-White is the President-Elect (for 2013-1024) of the Association of Adult Development and Aging division of the American Counseling Association.
