Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationShortly after having her implants put in, author Lindsey Anne Mayr had a near-death experience in the form of a massive bilateral pulmonary embolism. This life-altering event was a pivotal moment in her life, bringing her face to face with the severe risks associated with breast implants-and the ways the body can reject them. Going through the harrowing experience of BII, the difficult decision to remove her implants, and the recovery to follow, she found herself shocked by the lack of comprehensive resources available to women undergoing this experience. This led her to fill this gap herself, carving out a space online offering help to women navigating this experience, from practical advice to social support. Armed with a wealth of knowledge in holistic health and wellness, along with a love of writing and a deep desire to ""pay it forward,"" Mayr has since established herself as an explant coach, public speaker, and advocate. Her work and lived experience ultimately culminated in the writing of this book. Lindsey is the founder of the Explant Surgery & BII Wellness Community on Facebook and an active member of several advocacy networks, including the Breast Implant Illness Support Group by Dr. Shaher Khan, MD, the Breast Implant Removal Support, ENTV-The Entrepreneur Visibility Platform, and Breast Implant Illness Hope For Healing. Beyond her work as a coach and advocate, she enjoys yoga, practising qigong, spending time in nature, gardening, and cooking big, hearty meals for her four sons with what she harvests. She makes her home in Vancouver, British Columbia, where her little dog Henri is always by her side. Interested in getting in touch?
