Felix M. Brehar graduated ""Iuliu Hatieganu"" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2000 and he obtained his PhD with the thesis ""Cellular and molecular therapies within the multimodal therapy of glioblastoma"". He was trained in experimental neuro-oncology at University of Virginia Charlottesville, USA (2006), where he was involved in: techniques of glioblastoma cell cultures; transfection of glioblastoma cell lines with plasmidic vectors which include MMP promoter; RT-PCR, Westhern blot and Zymography techniques; microsurgical tehniques of stereotactic intracranial glioblastoma cells inoculation in nude mice. He has a good expertise in stereotactic neurosugical procedures and a strong background in neuro-oncology. He was/is involved in several research projects, as follows: - Tumor neural stem cells: a new therapeutic target within the multimodal treatment of malign cerebral gliomas, PNCDI II 41_035/2007, Romanian Ministry of Research. - Associated partner in European project: P7-Infrastructures-2007-1 Programm Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI) grant no. 212111/2008. - A new anti-invasive experimental strategy for infiltrative malignant gliomas (2013-2016). UEFISCDI, Grant no. 42/2013 He published 20 papers in per-review journals, 2 books and 5 book chapters in neurosurgery. He is a member of World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).
