"Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. The word translated actually means 'to arrange flowers'. In his new book, Dr Leonard Lim explains that this ancient art is ""about our relationship with nature, it is a journey in our hearts as we create beautiful ikebana."" The book contains nearly 300 four-colour photos of various styles of ikebana and provides step-by-step instructions for everyday and special occasion arrangements. In the middle chapters, Lim moves on to the more sophisticated aspects of colour, shape and quality. The third section offers the beginner instructions to create basic ikebana freestyle in three movements. Dr Limm explores new ways to look at materials in arrangements such as using household items and office stationery as vases. He also demonstrates how to celebrate special moments with ikebana.
