Social Enterprise in Emerging Markets is a wonderful contribution to the growing field of social enterprise, and paints a clear picture of the successes and lessons learned from the innovative leaders working in emerging markets. It is my hope that this book will add depth and perspective to the ongoing conversation around how best to support the social enterprise ecosystem and enable environments for success as we seek to address today's most pressing social issues. - Judith Rodin, President, The Rockefeller Foundation Social Enterprise in Emerging Markets provides an urgent, comprehensive insight into the deep, cross-sector collaborations, and difficult work early in the life of social enterprises, that are needed for the sector to flourish. It also reminds us of the incredible impacts that are at stake. With No Free Ride, there are No More Excuses. - Ben Thornley, Director, InSight at Pacific Community Ventures; Co-convenor, Impact Investing Policy Collaborative Well over a decade ago, I first learned of the seminal work NESsT was pioneering in Central Eastern Europe and South America. With Social Enterprise in Emerging Market Countries, the NESsT Team now brings lessons of leading social entrepreneurs and impact investors out of frontier markets and onto the global stage. This book speaks volumes regarding lessons we each may learn from the deep experience of one of the field's leading impact practitioners. - Jed Emerson, Founding Director, REDF; Chief Impact Strategist, ImpactAssets
