Overview

Hua Ai (Nicole / Nikolina) is a Shanghai-born, London-based writer and animal welfare advocate who holds herself, and always will, as a feminist-on the page and in her everyday life. She has been literary writing in English since she was twenty and has received several international poetry awards and Best of the Net nominations. She is currently working on a tetralogy of novels that look at the current geopolitical climate and its brutal aftermath through an individual lens, and how love, as a compass, can salvage the seed of awareness. When she's not writing, she's a cardio hothead, a peripatetic wanderer, and a polymath in Eastern European folk culture. She is also the mom to five rescued cats back in Shanghai.
