As indicated by the catalogue, many of the paintings and articles of household art are offered for sale at such reasonable prices as, it is believed, will meet the views of those wishing to purchase. It may be safely asserted that no like opportunity for the acquisition of meritorious works of art has ever been presented in the West. It is hoped that sufficient encouragement in the way of sales will be given to the artists and dealers who have sent contributions, to provide for the success of future exhibitions.
