She teaches courses on human rights, social welfare, human behavior, abnormal psychology, research methods, and social policy. She maintains an active clinical license and performs contract work as a crisis therapist, in addition to providing writing and consultation services related to evidence-based practices in social work and psychology. Her research interests focus on eating disorders and other mental health topics. Dr. Schulz taught for five years at Mount Vernon Nazarene University before accepting her current position at Ashland University. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from National University and a Master of Social with with an emphasis on mental health and substance abuse counseling from The Ohio State University.
