Overview

It's time to challenge tired stereotypes surrounding women and ageing and embrace the growth and freedom that comes from getting older They say the only thing scarier than ageing is not ageing at all, but how many of us truly live like this is true? For some, turning another decade older is a milestone they'd rather not mark. But when Katie Piper turned forty, it was only cause for celebration. With an acid attack causing her to stare death in the face at age twenty-four, Katie's approach to ageing was changed irrevocably. In a world where women have too often been made to feel irrelevant or invisible for going through the natural ageing process, she now sees each passing day as life's greatest gift - but you don't need to go through trauma to give your views on ageing a much-needed overhaul. Every day is a Gift will challenge deeply ingrained thinking about ageing and offer a positive, life-enhancing alternative. With essays on everything from the beauty of laughter lines to seeing the joy in slowing down, this book will make ageing a club women want to be a part of - one that sees ageing as synonymous with growing, learning, connection, creativity and freedom. It's time to embrace today and look forward to the future with confidence.

Reviews

A beautifully thoughtful, considered and candid read. As always, Katie’s trademark warmth and grace shines through. Her tendency to lean into the joy means I can’t WAIT TO hit 40! Another TRIUMPH Piper! * Stacey Dooley, TV presenter and author * A distinctive, rare gem of a book packed with raw, unfiltered honesty. I found myself both nodding along and feeling lightbulbs go on. I want to be in Katie's tribe and you will too. * Ranvir Singh, journalist and TV presenter * Still Beautiful invites us to reimagine what ageing and beauty should look like. Through Katie's powerful story, she teaches us that beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, but an intrinsic superpower that we define by just being (ourselves). * Dame Denise Lewis, Olympic champion, presenter and author * Katie is one of the most important voices today. She is motivating without being preachy. When Katie writes it's from the heart and her heart is full of love. She is always willing to help anyone and everyone and through her writing, she does exactly that! * Gaby Roslin, TV and radio presenter * This book has reframed my whole understanding of ageing. Katie's remarkable story has captured my heart for a long time - and this is her next chapter. * Christine Lampard, presenter and broadcaster * Everybody should read this book. The reflections into how Katie has shown resilience in the face of adversity are truly universal. * Shirley Ballas, dancer and TV presenter * Katie has written this book so that we are in her story with her but she wants us to think about the lessons we can all learn as they are universal. More power to you, Katie Piper, you're wonderful. * Carol Vorderman, broadcaster and author * I want to buy this book for every woman in my life! Katie encourages the reader to self-reflect and to learn about and embrace who they truly are where it matters...on the inside. She speaks from a place of her own unique experiences but with a powerful voice which will resonate with everyone who reads this book. * Lauren Silverman, Patron of the Katie Piper Foundation * Raw, brave and beautifully written. This is a book we all need to guide us into our second chapter with grace, resilience, appreciation and a sense of self-worth. * Lisa Snowden, presenter and model * Brave, bold and utterly inspiring. Thank you Katie for saying what many have struggled to put into words yet as women, we all continue to endure. In a world where many see vulnerability as weakness, Katie harnesses it as strength. Thank you Katie for exposing the ugly truth of what beauty costs us all. Every woman, and their daughters, should read this. * Myleene Klass MBE, broadcaster, musician and campaigner *
