This is the second edition of this book and is the culmination the Studio for Southern California History's annual tradition of holding a walking tour at Evergreen Cemetery. Established in 1877, Evergreen Cemetery has many Los Angeles histories including Charlotta Amanda Bass, Jesse Belvin, Bridget Biddy Mason, Toyo Miyatake, African American actors from early Hollywood, athletes, veterans from the Mexican American War to the present struggles in Afghanistan and Iraq. This book highlights poets, musicians, mothers and sons and is a great way to explore the oldest non-denominational cemetery in Los Angeles. This book includes an illustrated map, poetry, photographs, timeline and references to go further. This second edition has sections on suicide and Japanese mon.
