David Breashears, the first American to scale Everest twice, was a veteran of nine previous Himalayan filmmaking expeditions when he agreed to lead what became his most challenging filmmaking experience. The expedition was organized by large-format motion picture producer MacGillivray Freeman Films and comprised an international team of climbers. Author Information

Broughton Coburn, a New York Times bestselling author and editor, has worked in environmental conservation and development projects in the Himalayas for more than two of the past three decades. In addition, he has directed projects for the World Bank, World Wildlife Fund, and American Himalayan Foundation. Conrad Anker is a professional mountaineer who has made breakthrough first ascents throughout the world, from the Himalayas to Antarctica and Patagonia. He is a member of the North Face climbing team and also works closely with Timex Expedition as brand ambassador. In 1999, he was a key member of the search team that located the remains of legendary British climber George Mallory on Mount Everest, and he was first to spot Mallory's body. He lives in Bozeman, Montana. Mark Peckham is an actor and director based in Rhode Island. In addition to working with Trinity Rep, Virginia Stage Co., and many Boston-area theaters, he was the voice of Joseph Smith in the award-winning PBS documentary American Prophet with Gregory Peck.
