Overview

I met Jake Shapiro while we were both locked up at Sheridan, the minimal security prison in Oregon. He was there for embezzling several hundred thousand dollars from a non-profit. Jake was their CFO. Chief Fuck-up Offender. Mostly he spent the money on stupid things; cars, expensive presents for the women he was seeing, lavish dinners for erstwhile friends. I wonder if any of them felt bad when they found out the gifts he gave, the meals he treated them to, were bought with money stolen from a charity. I doubt they did. None of them came to visit him in prison.
