OverviewOn the first day of Royal Ascot, the crowd rejoices in a string of winning favorites. Ned Talbot has worked all his life as a bookmaker - taking over the family business from his grandfather - so he knows not to expect any sympathy from the punters as they count their winnings, and him his losses. Born in 1953, Felix studied physics and electronics at London University and then embarked on a 17-year career teaching advanced level physics. Felix is the youngest son of Dick Francis, who was acclaimed as one of the greatest thriller writers in the world. Felix had assisted Dick with both the research and the writing of many of his novels over the past 40 years, and when Dick died, he wanted his legacy to live on through his son. Felix has taken over the literary reigns from his father and has since written eleven successful Dick Francis books. Tony Britton was born in Birmingham, England in 1924. A renowned classical actor, he has been cast in many stage productions including Gigi and My Fair Lady, as well as numerous Shakespeare roles. Britton's film credits include Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) and The Day of the Jackal (1973).
