Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationEldred Evans (b. 1937) studied at the Architectural Association (AA) and at Yale University under Paul Rudolph and Serge Chermayeff (and alongside Norman Foster and Richard Rogers). David Shalev (1934-2018) was educated in the ‘evolved Bauhaus’ in Haifa, where he was surrounded with modernism counterpointed with an ancient tradition. Highly original designers, both of them were also influential teachers – Evans at the Polytechnic of Central London and Shalev at the AA and the University of Bath. Joseph Rykwert is Paul Philippe Cret Professor Emeritus of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, and one of the foremost architectural historians of his generation.
