Overview

The book collects contributions from students and collaborators of the founders of Italian Ethology, Leo Pardi and Floriano Papi, at the conference held at the Academy of Sciences and Letters ""La Colombaria"" on April 4, 2025. Italian Ethology originated, and has continued brilliantly, in Tuscan universities. The texts provide a historical-scientific perspective and many first-person accounts of the origins and contributions of the Pisan and Florentine Schools. Texts by Guido Chelazzi, Alberto Ugolini, Stefano Turillazzi, Natale Emilio Baldaccini, Francesco Dessì-Fulgheri, Marco Vannini, Felicita Scapini, Anna Gagliardo, Paolo Luschi, Resi Mencacci, Rita Cervo, and Augusto Foà.
