Dr Darius Kučinskas graduated as a pianist and musicologist from the Lithuanian Music Academy. His research interests include Lithuanian music history, the creative heritage of M. K. Čiurlionis, and mechanical music recordings. His recent work has focused on music for player pianos, particularly 'ethnic' piano rolls.
