OverviewThis volume contains revised and updated editions of articles by Andrzej Krzanowski coming from different periods of his forty-year-long research activities in Peru, from the first expedition to the Huaura Valley up to the most recent research on the Central Coast. Krzanowski is the first Pole to have conducted archaeological research in the Andes and led the 1978–1987 Polish Scientific Expedition to the Andes, which carried out interdisciplinary research (archaeology, geography, ethnography) on settlements in the high mountain region of Huaura-Checras. He has been Poland's ambassador to Venezuela and Guyana, Suriname, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Grenada. He has authored or coauthored nine books on the archaeology and history of the Andes.
