Overview

This collection, a personalist exploration of the sources of the Christian East, yields a number of insights useful in grappling with some of the pressing issues confronting today's world. Historical matters to personalist concerns, such as human sexuality, marriage, and feminism are among the broad spectrum of topics covered. An Eastern Catholic appreciation of the life work of two esteemed Orthodox theologians, Alexander Schemann and John Meyendorff, is offered. In the concluding section, devoted to Russian religious philosophy, Professor Slesinski reveals this rich tradition to be a particularly viable resource for coping with the challenges of our own time.
