Overview

From ancient times, a body of spiritual teaching known as 'esoteric philosophy' has been passed down from generation to generation. It was the 'source' of the arts, sciences and religions of numerous civilizations. Esotericism synthesizes both Eastern and Western philosophies and is the science of the process of evolution both in man and in nature. Esotericism presents a systematic and comprehensive description of the energy structure of the Universe and man's task in it. It also constitutes the art of 'bringing to earth' and anchoring these energies which emanate from the highest sources. Esotericism postulates that God is the sum total of all laws, and all energies governed by these laws which make up everything in the manifested and unmanifested universe - everything we see and cannot see. Man, for his part, is a Spark of God, a spirit that expresses himself through his Soul (or the highest Self) and a personality that is made up of mental, emotional and physical bodies. Life after life, the Law of Cause and Effect (or 'karma') attracts the soul to reincarnate until the moment when the individual is gradually able to express (he or she) his innate divinity. The stages of this progressive self-mastery are marked by great expansions of consciousness, known as Initiations.
