OverviewThis story is an accurate account of Massoumeh Raouf's 1982 imprisonment and escape. Massoumeh is a sympathiser of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, the pro-Democracy opposition to Mullah's regime. Inside the Rasht high security prison, in the north of Iran, and under the merciless watch of the Revolutionary Guard, Massoumeh made the decision to send a clear and loud message to the mullah's regime and break out of prison! Excerpt: ""I only spent a few months in the prisons of the Iranian mullahs. However, it feels like I spent almost my whole life there as my life took a different direction as a consequence of that ordeal. I've always felt that I survived that ordeal by chance. I've survived, when others, who shared this common passion for ideals and objectives with me, were exterminated. Due to confrontations resulting from the tyranny exercised by the Mullah's regime in power in Iran, I lost my parents, my brothers, and my husband. I am not unique in that; I am not the only one to have lost cherished loved ones. Thousands of other Iranians have become the victims of that barbaric and inhuman genocide. Thousands who have paid the highest price for having exposed that regime, thousands who have never had the chance or the time to disclose and explain and make the rest of the world grasp the depths of that terrible religious tyranny."" Massoumeh Raouf Basharidoust, a former journalist and political prisoner of the mullah's religious regime in Iran, was born in 1961. She was arrested in 1981 and condemned to 20 years imprisonment. However, she managed to escape after 8 months. In 1988, her younger brother was executed during the organised massacre of the 30,000 Iranian political prisoners. She carried out research from 1996 to 2001 on the families of the executed political prisoners and about the situation inside Iranian prisons. This research produced some collective publications with: ""Massacre of Political Prisoners"" and ""Enchained Heroes"". In order to pay tribute to her brother, Massoumeh wrote a picture book entitled ""A Little Prince in the Land of the mullahs"". Massoumeh lives in exile. She is fully engaged in the campaign movement: ""Justice for the victims of the 1988 massacre in Iran"". She is presently fighting to bring to justice the perpetrators of that yet unpunished ""Crime Against Humanity"" Massoumeh Raouf Basharidoust, a former journalist and political prisoner of the mullah's religious regime in Iran, was born in 1961.
