Originally planned as just romances (most of our writers went a different direction), this issue's cover is from Edith Wild's ""When Jimmy Met Barbie,"" prequel to ""Come Dig My Earth"" (Issue 10). In another tale, the Ring of Fire didn't shock just the up-timers and down-timers. It also affected their pets. Chuck Thompson focuses on one of them in ""Dagnabit Belle."" In his first 1632 story, Robert F. Lowell's ""The Grand Adventure of Baron von Münchhausen in the Land of the Americans"" follows the ancestor of a historical man you are probably more familiar with. Marc Tyrrell introduced Alphons and Rose in ""To Kill A Redbird"" (Issue 12) and ""Adieu Anvers"" tells more of their tale. David Hankins follows up ""The Abrabanel Rescue"" (Issue 14) with ""The Brezelgeist Romance."" The Coming Soon and Available Now sections are growing again as Baen rereleases more books, and Bethanne Kim's all-new Red Shield. ""Something Old"" follows up on one thread in this new novel. In non-fiction columns, Jackie Britton Loptain returns with the ""Mannington Minute."" ""Historic Gems Restorations"" introduces a non-profit restoring buildings in Mannington.
