Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationKali Kiger coined the term, EQxpressionism, (short for equestrian expressionism ) in 2009, in hopes of giving credence to a world-wide movement of playing with horses artistically. Kiger, who began riding at age 6, combines classical ideas about posture and movement with natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement methodology. Kiger operates a lessons and training program in Bend, Oregon, USA. She primarily works with ranch raised Welsh pony colts and Mustangs. Kiger is perpetually exploring how little is needed to gentle a horse in hopes of finding the simplest way for the horse to understand. What she teaches her students, and what she identifies as the link among EQxpressionists, is the goal of art-making in the interchange between horse and human. Kiger has two more volumes of EQxpressionists in the works and hopes that the movement will continue to take off around the world, with many EQxpressionistic trainers and facilities in existence.
