Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationLong before his name became synonymous with modern urban fiction, Antonne Jones was working 40-50 hours a week at The Home Depot, squeezing in time before going to work and lunch in the employee break room to write his first novel. Born in 1972 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he dreamed of being a professional basketball player. He realized a pro career wasn't going to happen. One of those friends suggested he write a book about the Black Mafia. He spent two years on The Family: A Philadelphia Mob Story which hit number two on the Essence magazine bestseller list--a first for its genre. Selling over 100,000 copies, it grabbed the interest of Roc-A-Fella Records' head honchos, Damon Dash and JZ, who were starting a new film venture. After negotiations fell apart, to Jones' surprise, Roc-A-Fella Films released the motion picture State Property, which was very similar to his first book. He filed a copyright infringement suit and, after brief litigation, the case was resolved. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
