Overview

Equal by Design celebrates African American and Black designers throughout history as well as those who are currently working in the field. With a lack of representation and limited public awareness of historic contributions made by Black and Brown designers, it's easy to understand why African Americans aren't pursuing careers in graphic design. My goal is to not only change perceptions, but reveal how Black designers have made important contributions to the industry.In reading Equal by Design, I hope students, teachers, and parents can use this book as a resource. It's meant to spark curiosity among Black youth and inspire future designers to pursue their passion.
