Author Information

Nicholas Rescher, University Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, served for many years as director of the Center for the History and Philosophy of Science. A former president of the American Philosophical Association, he is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, and is the author of more than ninety works ranging over many areas of philosophy.
