Erythema pigmentum fixata (EPF) is a benign toxidermia that is frequently encountered because of its ease of diagnosis. Diagnosis is essentially clinical. The presence of hyperpigmented macules on the same site in the context of a drug intake is a strong argument for diagnosis. The aim of our study was to identify the drugs responsible for toxidermia, and to determine the treatment itinerary followed by these patients in three dermatology and venereology centers in Benin. We enrolled 134 patients, including 76 men and 58 women, giving a sex ratio (M/F) of 1.31. The mean age of patients was 35.87 years. The therapeutic itinerary of the majority was home self-medication - hospital. The main atopic antecedents were asthma, followed by allergic conjunctivitis, allergic sinusitis and constitutional eczema. The common form of EPF was the most common, followed by the bullous form. Paracetamol was the most common drug used. Treatment consisted of avoiding the offending drug and managing the symptoms.
