He earned a B.Ed. degree in Geography, M.Sc. degree in Development Planning, M.Sc. degree in Environmental Management, LLB, LLM (Human Rights) and PhD (Env Law and Policy). He teaches Environmental and Planning Law at the undergraduate level, and International Environmental Law and Climate Change, Law & Policy at the Postgraduate level. Emmanuel has a cross appointment with the Centre for Environmental Management and Control (CEMAC) of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus where he teaches International Environmental Law.
