Yana Milev ist Soziologin, Ethnografin und Kuratorin. Im Anschluss an ethnografische Studien in Japan promovierte sie zur Dr.phil. Seit 2009 ist Milev Research Associate am Seminar für Soziologie der Universität St. Gallen (SfS-HSG). 2014 habilitierte sie sich und wurde zur Privatdozentin für Kultursoziologie der Universität St. Gallen (HSG) ernannt. Sie ist Initiatorin und Leiterin der Forschung ""Entkoppelte Gesellschaft"" sowie seit 2017 Founder und CEO des Think Tank AGIO Gesellschaftsanalyse + Politische Bildung mit Sitz in St. Gallen und Berlin.
