This book is the fourth of five volumes in the series ""Entering into Ministry"" - covering all the ministries we find in the New Testament. It is a continuation of the introductory Volume III and gives you a comprehensive description of each of the ""five-fold ministries"" - the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacherThe apostle is the pioneer and architect with the largest vision and scope for the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Besides him the prophet sharpens the direction of the activity of the Body of Christ bringing the prophetic ""right word at the right time"". Together, these two ministries lay the foundation for the church.The evangelist completes the apostolic work in an area, seeing to that everyone is reached with the Gospel. The pastor oversees the local church(es) as the loving shepherd, and the teacher ensures that everyone knows and understands the Word. Together they complete the Great Commission from Jesus Christ to ""make disciples of all the nations"" (Mat 28:19).They are all assigned to ensure that every believer is fully equipped for ministry. As such, they are of vital importance to the strength and growth of any church. Jorn Overby is born of Norwegian missionaries to Bangladesh and spent his childhood on the Indian subcontinent. He received his MDiv in 1981 and pioneered and pastored a church in Oslo (including a government approved kindergarten and public Christian school as well as an international Bible school) for some 22 years, He is the director of Missions Thrust International, founded in 1990, and has over the last 25 years conducted interdenominational pastors' and leadership seminars as well as evangelistic campaigns in almost 50 nations around the world.Jorn Overby resides with his wife Borghild in Oslo, Norway.
