She and her husband, Art, have four children between them, and eighteen grandchildren. Her essays, stories and poems have appeared in The Rumpus, Entropy Magazine, WBUR's Cognoscenti, Parks & Points, Bluestem Magazine, Poetry and Places, Silver Birch Press, Persimmon Tree, Lucky Jefferson, Bryant Literary Review, Backchannel Journal, Poetry and Covid, a project funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, and elsewhere.
