OverviewMax Hefler is a fourteen year old 8th grader at Lincoln Middle School. Max is overweight, awkward, and shy. He is also very intelligent, funny and caring. He lives with his single, loving mother in their small apartment. While Max's home can be a warm, caring place, school is not.
