Reviews

For any current or future teacher of English, or professor involved in teacher education, it is crucial to embrace the rapid changes in our globalised field today. It is the most mobile era in world history, and people from uncountable language and cultural backgrounds-where non-native speakers are in the majority-are crisscrossing borders to communicate in their own varieties of English. Using the incredibly diverse microcosm of Australia, Marzieh Sadegh Pour has provided us with a long overdue volume which gives teachers priceless insights into how to construct practical new forms of English education based on important work done in World Englishes, EIL and other related paradigms. James D'Angelo, Chukyo University Graduate School of World Englishes, Japan and Editor-in-Chief, Asian Englishes I think this book is a valuable contribution to the field in the sense that it highlights the significance of teaching English from a wider perspective to fit the status of English as an International Language or Lingua Franca. Yasemin Bayyurt, Bogazi i University,Turkey
