This book contains a wide range of resources for students learning to read, spell and write English. This book includes activities developed at Learning Tree some of which are the Word Tree, visual aids for words, Word Links, Train Tracks For Rhyming Words, Rhyming Words, Handy Words, Practise Ideas For Words, Word Game, Shopping Lists, Double Letters In Words, Activities For Colours, Days Of The Week, and Months. The layout of this book has been designed in a way that allows students to feel a sense of achievement and flow as they move through the materials, this is done through page layout and design, comic sans font, font size, pastel backgrounds and illustrations. This book would be particularly useful for Resource Teachers and Learning Support Teachers in schools.This book was created by Lorraine Dunne. Lorraine is the mother of one boy and she trained as a secondary school teacher and Guidance Counsellor. The courses she completed include a B. A. in Humanities, a Higher Diploma in Education, a Higher Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, a Dyslexia tutoring course, a Diploma in Life Coaching as well as a number of T.E.F.L. courses. She gained a vast amount of experience over an eleven year period working as a teacher in various educational settings and with different age groups. She also worked as a Guidance Counsellor between two schools and a Youthreach Centre for two years. She currently develops educational materials and resources for children and students.
