Thiru Kandiah is currently retired as Professor of English (University of Peradeniya). He has published locally (Sri Lanka) and internationally in English Studies (Language and Literature), under the perspective that the historically-constituted conditions in ex-colonial countries enable a reversal of the familiar one-way (centre to periphery) directionality of the flow of ideas, to the enhancement of epistemological insight and of the chances of attaining a truly participatory global scholarly community whose work would matter to the masses of human subjects who are at the heart of its endeavours.
