Author Information

Dr. Pinki Pal serves as a principal investigator at the Department of Chemistry, Birla Institute of Technology, India, where she is engaged in a research project sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, under the Women Scientist Scheme (WOS). She specializes in the fields of material science and food technology, with a primary research focus on designing and developing engineered polymeric materials characterized by tailored architecture and customized properties. Her extensive body of work includes numerous research articles, patents, and contributions to book chapters. With a rich background spanning 10 years, Dr. Pal possesses experience in research, teaching, and industry. Dr. Gautam Sen is an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, Birla Institute of Technology, India, since 2009. Dr. Sen is recognized for being the first to pioneer the application of microwave energy in graft copolymerization of biopolymers for a wide range of applications, including acting as a matrix for controlled and targeted (colon-specific) drug release, bioadhesives, bacteriostasis, wound management, flocculants for water treatment and rheological applications, clarification of fruit juices, sugarcane juice, scaffolds for tissue engineering, and selective adsorbents for transition metal ions in environmental cleanup (grafted-cross linked grades of graft copolymers). Dr. Sen is a prolific author and has taken the lead as the principal investigator in several research projects, accumulating a wealth of experience in research and teaching spanning approximately 15 years. Prof. J.P. Pandey is working as a professor at the Department of Chemistry, Birla Institute of Technology, India. He has also served as the Controller of Examination at the same institution. Prof. Pandey's research expertise includes the fields of photoelectrochemical cell, solar cells, electrochemistry, environmental science, and water treatment technologies.
